A File Extension list contains extensions the Web module should block when a user attempts to download content matching the list. The Blocked File Extensions page is where you define File Extension lists to filter. The access is provided for a specific purpose. Its not your right to use a system administrated by others as you see fit. What you consider your right is in actuality a privilege. There's no way to defeat content filtering without getting locked up. If you just *want* to get to those sites, you'll just have to wait until you get home. If you *need* to get to certain filtered sites, talk to the network administrator - you can be given a tunnel through the filter.
Lightspeed is content filtering, so proxies are useless. Once configured, selecting a VPN is as easy as selecting any Wi-Fi network VPNs are used to get around the great firewall of China, and they can bypass other content filters in the same way. Don't even bother trying those they usually don't work. We have thoroughly read the Lightspeed Systems™ blog and forum and have discovered loopholes students have used in the past to bypass web filters, including proxy websites, SOCKS webservers, TOR, and programs installed on flash drives. This site was made by students to provide a free, easy option to access entertainment websites, social media, and other blocked sites while using school internet (I know data can get expensive sometimes). In our opinion, it is one of the most annoying things ever created. Lightspeed Systems™ technology is used by several schools across the USA to restrict certain content from being viewed on their networks.
